*** to ***** STARS . Mr. Epicureans' more accurate rating.\r

I will briefly touch upon the overall lack of culinary quality in Cobb County, Georgia. For those of us in search of quality food in Cobb, we are unfortunately in a culinary desert (not dessert). East Cobb is undergoing a changing demography and is slowly being gentrified. As such, only a small percentage of East Cobb residents would actually patronize an establishment like Aspens. ""All you can eat"" , ""Country buffets"" still do well here in East Cobb. \r
\r
Basically there is no competition for what Aspens is doing in Cobb. We are glad to have them! Lack of competition means they can charge what they want -- and maybe rightly so. It does save one a drive into Atlanta proper.\r
\r
However, despite the great atmosphere and staff I will review them accordingly: \r
\r
Aspens' is charging ""prime cut"" steak prices. In my opinion, however, their steaks far from prime quality. I prefer a grilled steak on my Weber Genesis grill at home. They are not even close to Bones or even Ruth Chris. The chef also put some sort of nasty glaze on the steak for a finish that ruins the whole purpose of a ""prime cut"" steak IMNSHO -- if that is what they are indeed serving.\r
\r
Conclusion: Don't order Steaks here. Which is an irony of course considering their name -- ""Aspens' Signature Steaks."" I would opt for the oysters instead(on the weekends only) and a few appetizers, followed by the $10.00 Angus Burger, split that with your significant other, and few glasses of house wine and your check will be commensurate to the meal. BTW - bread is served and free.\r

Mr. Epicurean
Pros: Great atmosphere
Cons: Subpar steaks and costly
