Review content:
The New Horseshoe Bar Grill is recently reopened. Hence the word NEW in the name. The new owners have created a fine establishment, based on first-rate service, super delicious servings, all done in a cozy atmosphere. The restaurant is an old brick building in downtown Loomis. \r
Fresh is the word of the day here. The manager told me he seeks out the freshest produce, preferring locally grown whenever available. His one-plate dinner offerings include steaks, pastas, fresh seafood, salads and sandwiches. Since we were there on a Tusday night, wife ordered the $19.50 prime rib special. She was surprised to get a big serving with potatoes and vegetables, plus a dinner salad and a fancy desert (which she had boxed to take home). I tackled the pork chop entree which was more than I could handle, so I, took something home. Great food. I took my golfing pals for lunch on another day and they all raved about the place. \r
I will be going back often as it is not far from my home in Roseille. \r
Service is commendable. Servers are knowledgable, polite, friendly and efficient. I might say all of the abovd. Food is outstandng. Highly recommended.
Pros: Unusual location in rural town. Have to look for it. Horseshoe Bar is marked on i-80
Cons: No real parking lot but streets are usuallly deserted by dinner time.
