Review content:
Since moving to the downtown Birmingham area and renaming itself Thai House, this restaurant has gained an entirely new following. My b/f dined weekly at the Hoover location for 15 yrs and I for 3, but due to the fact that we live downtown we can now be seen there every other day. Thai House has the city's best Masaman Chicken, Yum Yai salad, Pad Thai, Wanton Soup and hot noodle bowl w/broth. Their cocnut soup has a nice flavour (essentially watered down cocnut milk w/ a few slices of muchroom and tofu/chicken), but they should be embarrased to call it a Thai soup b/c it doesn't even come close to the Tom Kai in San Francisco, CA. Overall I would rate Thai House as having the best entrees and the friendliest owners of any Thai restaurant in Birmingham.
Pros: Masaman Chicken, location, interior, friendly owner and staff.
Cons: Tom Kai and Tom Yum soups a joke.
