I am taking care of my brothers finances since he is truck driver and can't do it on the road. He has several accounts past due so one of them contacted Prompt Services to collect a debt. They agreed to a certain amount as full payment if it was paid by the end of the month. I called them to approve to taken out a certain amount and they told me it would be done on the last day of the month. By paying this 'agreed' amount it would be considered 'full amount paid' so we saved over $200. When I checked my account...they only took out the 'payment' amount that I didn't not agree to. I called them and left a message twice...have not heard back from them yet. Also...when I asked them to send me a 'confirmation' email they said it would cost $10.00 extra dollars for an email...UNREAL! They are also charging a 'fee' besides the full amount which is rediculous but the amount was lower than the full amount that my brother owed. Now that I've read all these complaints about them I have a feeling I am going to have trouble with them. I will contact a Lawyer IF they don't take out the correct amount that I have authorized to pay them.
