Review content:
First off... I never take the effort to write complaints about any of the establishments that I have been to. It takes a really, really bad experience to get me to take the time to sit down and write about it. This is the case with my experience at the Porter House in White Plains.
We went last night (10/17) to celebrate my brothers birthday. We are a group of young professionals that easily put down a couple of hundred dollars worth of drinks and shots throughout the course of the night.
The problem is the place was full of rude, obnoxious trash that kept pushing and shoving into us throughout the course of the night. At one point we were pushed by an Artie Lange lookalike in acid wash and oversized pink neon glasses.... yea... this is the type of clientele this place attracts.
I have been to my fair share of crowded bars... but none as bad as this. Finally we were pushed by a particularly rude and trashy group. At one point my brother yelled at one member of the trash brigade to back up as he almost knocked one of us over. A second member of the trash brigade yells to my brother ""Yo son, don't talk to my boy like that"".... Westchester trash at its finest.
After some back and forth yelling... what happens next.... the big oaf of a bouncer comes and kicks my brother out. My brother did not lay a hand on anyone. The bouncer was no where around to witness any of this... so I don't understand how such an indiscriminate decision can be made. At least kick both parties involved out. But I guess you can't expect much from a bouncer... especially a bouncer at a place like as the Porter House.
So... if you want to hang out at an establishment frequented by ugly, rude bullies and staffed/run by equally ugly, rude bullies... then look no further than the Porter House on Mamaroneck Avenue. The fact that a place needs to have 5 - 7 cops standing outside the front door should be a warning to STAY AWAY!
Cons: Rude staff, rude and low class clientele
