Review content:
My wife and I went looking for a new gym to get fit in 2012. While City Fitness does seem to have some clear plusses: lots of free weights, spacious, a free parking lot, and great hours, we were feeling pretty disappointed about the sign-up process. On our first visit, we were quoted $50/month combined for both my wife and I with no enrollment fee. It sounded like a great deal, but we wanted to think it over for a bit and also check out other gyms like 12th street and PSC. When we returned to City Fitness today, another gentleman greeted us and said it would be $60 a month for the both of us. When I mentioned that we had been quoted $50/month, he began to explain in a very confusing way about all these different extra add-on fees. He then said he was the manager and was surprised that we had been quoted anything but the $60 fee. The manager then summoned the original woman who gave us the $50/month offer and she didn’t remember giving us that quote. I felt like it was more of a car dealership experience which was troubling to me because maybe a future billing problem would arise and it would an equally difficult and confusing experience.
