Review content:
I wanted to move in Island Drive Apartments but I decided not to. The reason why I made this decision is because my parents completed the application but the leasing office was not willing to process it. Since the application was completed and apparently everyone was ok, I find it unreasonable that now Island Drive asks me to provide proof that I have $21,900 in my bank account, which is more than two times one year of rent at a studio at Island Drive, and very difficult to prove taking into account that I am an international student with a part time job and just a debit account, and that my parents would be the ones paying the bill. It is discriminatory that they make students with visa go through more complex application processes.
More than anything, I find it unreasonable that the leasing office didn't inform me of this when I started the application more than a month ago. If I had known that Island Drive was going to make it impossible for me to complete an application I would have searched for other places. This information would have let me avoid wasting my time with Island Drive and would have prevented a great deal of inconvenience.
Finally I am not satisfaed with the treatment from their employee Michelle, who was extremetly mean, rude, and almost demanded that I go through this unreasonble process. Taking into account that I was confused and obviously had questions about the increasing requirements of the application, she could have shown at least some modicum of respect. She is the ultimate reason why I will never move to Island Drive apartments or any affiliated housing and I will recommend people look elsewhere for quality housing.
