My boyfriend and I came into the Care Pregnancy Clinic in Baton Rouge to have a pregnancy test. I was upset and did not want to talk with the counselor very much. When my pregnancy test came back positive, I was furious. The counselor tried to respond to me she was so nice and calmly walked me to the appointment desk and set up a second visit. In the second visit, an ultrasound was performed. My boyfriend was very upset because I came back for another visit. “Let's just end this now” he yelled, get the abortion. When I came back for my next visit, I was not very happy. The counselor greeted me with a great big smile and took me into the counseling room. I just opened up to the counselor. I already had one child who is physically disabled and was pressured to terminate this pregnancy by my grandmother years ago. Now the counselor understood. I was terrified and my life seemed to be falling apart. But the ultrasound picture helped me see my baby and i felt absolutely overjoyed when she saw the picture of a perfectly formed baby. This is just what I needed. My fear was gone. I thanked the counselor for being so patient with me and was glad the counselor didn't give up on her even with such a bad attitude. They gave me options and information about abortions and many resources...Wonderful people and place.
