Review content:
While my sister from NY shopped, I decided to get a pedicure to show off my cute new sandals. I should've known I was in trouble when the female technician walked around w/major attitude. I have no idea what transpired before I arrived, but clearly she was not a happy camper. \r
\r
As luck would have it, I got stuck w/her. She did a fairly decent job (minus the blowing and other sound effects indicating her annoyance), but she really messed up when she didn't offer a base coat (extremely important to keep the color from staining the nail), hurried through the polish portion, and raced off after applying a stingy topcoat! She never attempted to carry my shoes or bag to the drying station. Silly me... I thought this was standard practice in a nail salon! \r
\r
When she was sure that I had gathered my belongings and situated my ownself at the drying station, she raced over w/the bill and hovered over me while I pulled out my credit card. There was no space on the bill to leave a tip so I asked her if she had already included it in the price. She mumbled something and all I could make out was ""it's separate"". Needless to say, she received nothing, and after sharing my story w/my sister, neither she nor I plan to patronize this salon in the near future.\r
\r
Oh! Almost forgot: While I waited for Ms. Sunshine to help me to the drying station, I listened to the tacky way the male technician spoke to a group of young girls. They both wanted to get pedicures and had obviously ran ahead of their parent/guardian who was slowly approaching the salon. As the young ladies stated what service they wanted, the male tech repeated loud enough for the rest of us to hear, ""You know it cost $---! You got money? It cost $---!"" The young ladies were clearly embarrassed and so was I. As their parent/guardian approached the entrance to the shop, she (sizing up the situation) told the tech what she wanted done and the girls happily took a seat in each of the chairs. Now I understand that everyone is not honest, but clearly this could've been handle differently and much more tactfully!
Pros: The wait wasn't long.
Cons: Where do I begin?
