I have dealt with my share of auto places. Most of the time, I'm resigned to using them because I don't know much about cars and just have to take their word. More than once, I have felt cheated (trust me, I have horror stories). This place is the first place I have felt genuinely respected as a customer.
The very first time I ever visited NC Transmission, I stopped in for an emergency check-up, as my car had taken several tries to start that morning, and I feared getting stranded in Raleigh that evening. They did a quick once-over, assured me they didn't find anything wrong, and let me go free of charge. This spoke volumes to me (and no, there was no problem with the car -- a little fluke that did not repeat). The second time I came back this time with a check engine light, they explained the problem to me in layman's terms and charged reasonable rates to have it corrected.
I always want to support local businesses when possible, and NC Transmission makes this easy to do with their friendly, reasonable, and trustworthy service.
