We had signed a contract with Allied just after Ike, September 29th. They told us our house would be started 2 weeks after we signed the contract. NOT! We pleaded with them to at least fix the roof so when it rained, the inside would stop getting wet. They would not answer or return our calls. We have 3 small boys living in this mess that used to be our home. Did not seem to matter. After spending hours, over many days, trying to contact these people, our roof was started 2 months later. While ""fixing"" the roof they destroyed our patio roof. They used nails to apply the shingles splintering all of the wood on the underside of the patio roof. They said they had to for warranty reasons. I asked the roofer himself and he said his guys should have used staples like the original builders; they had no supervision. Shortly after the roof was installed, the roofer came out and said he would finish out the patio to hide the underside of the roof. Call after call, email after email, and no response on starting on the rest of the house or fixing the patio roof. I called the salesman (the only one that would answer his phone, then of course lie to me) after the New Year to ask if they would release us from our contract, he said yes. I asked to have something in writing; we never herd from him again. I had to file a complaint with the Houston BetterBB to get a response from these losers. The next week end after filing a complaint with the BetterBB, the roofer came out to “fix” the patio. Allied's answer was to cover the bottom of the patio roof with plywood. It has big gaps in between each sheet and was left unpainted, how nice. 2 days after I filed the complaint, the president of Allied responds through the BetterBB sounding amazed at my request. ""They have tried very hard to help us, and they have done a lot of work behind the scenes."", I was told. BS They never even contacted our insurance or sent them their estimate. My wife had to get it from Allied and fax it to our insurance. Lenny, the president of Allied, agreed to release us from the contract. I responded and asked about the unpainted patio. Lenny said it was wood colored before, it is wood colored now. It used to be a nice grooved, natural wood siding material. It is now plywood. Lenny, now confronted with the patio, says they would encounter financial hardship if they released us from our contract in the middle of a claim. (Sounds like he wants to screw us out of some money.) ( I spent 2 weekends preparing and painting the patio they messed up. I am fighting with my insurance over money because Allied refused to meet the insurance adjuster to discuss our damage. I am the one suffering a financial hardship you greedy bastards!) I reminded him, he had already said through the BetterBB, that he would release us from the contract. He changed his mind again. We have hired new contractors that have completed everything but the floors in just over a week. The pres of Allied said they did not have the people or material to do the job. I found the people; Home Depot and Lowes are full of supplies the last time I checked. The only way to get a response from these people was to file a complaint with the BetterBB. Allied’s sales people ran around trying to sign as many people as they could after IKE. Their pursuit of insurance money has left many people living in deplorable conditions. Instead of admitting to taking on to much work, they refuse to answer their phone and ignore their customers. (Like an ostrige sticking there stupid head in the ground.) They should not have used scare tactics to get people to sigh a contract. I have never work with a more worthless company in my life. DO NOT USE ALLIED FOR ANYTHING. \r
