I have been a tenant at Gladstone close to two years and I have become completely disillusioned with this place. Let me start off by saying if you drive by this building and are considering it - please drive away. When I first moved into my apt. all of my utilities were included in the rent. The rent was reasonable and it was great living here for about 6 months. Then the greedy management company decided to not only increase the rent but also they were going to have us pay all utilities (minus water). Now I'm sure you think I am just whining, the problem is I wouldn't mind paying more if the property owners were actually taking care of their building and tenants. The appliances are way outdated (think 1980) which means the electric bill is high each month. Now that summer has arrived it gets so hot in my apt. and I'd like to turn on my AC but guess what the AC doesn't work. I have heard numerous tenants complain about their AC not working either. There are mice in the building and lots and lots of bugs. I have seen the mice in the trash bins, in the hallways and even one inside my apartment. Well I complained about this pest issue to the office staff - and the management company's solution to the problem was to place two measly mouse traps in my laundry room. I'm not the only one who has voiced this issue before. You'd think that they would hire an exterminator team to take care of the pest problem. Instead they decided to spend the money on renovating a perfectly decent lobby and installed marble floors and panels in it. Really?!! I guess the vamped up lobby is for the mice. They also never give enough notice when they are going to have major construction or maintenance in and around the building. Just this week we were given less then 24 hours notice that the management company was going to tear up the entire parking lot and repave it. The notice basically read ""all cars need to be moved before 7:30 a.m"". They never mentioned where we could park our cars during all this chaos or what time they would be finished. It's bad enough we have to get up early for work but to actually force your tenants out of bed on a workday to get us to move our cars. Now that is just beyond ridiculous. So please do yourself a favor and don't even consider this place. Yeah yeah we got new window panels this year. Big deal. Westover Properties is just another greedy and awful management company.
