Review content:
We have dined all over the city and suburbs. We try to ""dine"" at least twice a month. By ""dine"" I mean, cocktails, apps, wine, entree, after dinner drinks, coffee...the whole bit. In our younger years, we put ourselves through college being servers. I would bet some of the reviewers (especially ones that complain after being with a large party) have never been servers. Sometimes coffee does take more than 10 minutes to get when you are putting in a dessert order, taking out entrees and tending to other people. Every time someone asks for anything, be it an extra plate, or a lemon, that is another trip to the kitchen taking time away from getting what another person needs. In a large party, one half of the table usually doesn't know what the other half is doing and causes much confusion and frustration for your server. Cocktails should be ordered all at once. Once those are delivered, an appetizer order can be taken. If half the party orders drinks and expects apps to be taken, but the other half of the party is now ready to order drinks, it throws the whole night off and the server is to blame. The fact that one would give $0 tip is ridiculous. That server just worked an entire night for free and now won't be able to pay a bill. If there is an issue so horrible as to not tip your waiter anything, it should be taken up with the manager. Perhaps the server knew you would be stingy and stood over your shoulder to try to squeeze a little humanity out of you. Yanni's is an excellent restaurant with wonderful food and great service. We have never been rushed or slighted. You get what you give. Pros: ambience, decor, food
