Review content:
I have been to both of the Brown Sugar restaurants but most recently to the Comm Ave location. The Thai food here is excellent, my favorite dish is the sizzling platter with scallops and shrimp prepared right next to your table and served immedaitely. Its quite a sight when its brought over and I suggest you take advantage. The pineapple-based rice dishes are also very nice with really cool presentation.\r \r My problem with Brown Sugar is that its so cramped on Comm Ave I wonder if they even have the room to prepare the dish tableside. You're practically sitting on top of your neighbors and your food will arrive almost immediately after you order on a busy night. also, don't expect to sit after dinner, your waiter will ask to clear plates the minute they're remotely empty. \r \r The restaurants concern for turning over tables makes for an uncomfortable experience - so I don't usually go unless I plan on eating, paying, and getting out in under 30 minutes. \r \r Can't say i'm a huge fan, but maybe on Tuesday nights its a little more civil. Check out Khao Sarn in Brookline if you're looking for something a little slower (albeit out of the way). Pros: Sizzling platters! Prompt service... Cons: maybe a little too prompt, cramped dining room, pushy
