Seeing a host of fruit flys in the bottome of my cognac, )Hennessy VSOP I walked to the bar to complain and his reply was ""oh, fruit-flys, that's a common bar problem."" To his credit he did offer me and my companions a free drink but that wasn't enough to overcome what was a poor dining experience at Blue Hour.\r
First, when I ordered a glass of the Pinot, the waitress made sure to tell me that it was $20 per glass. I said I know, it was printed on the menu and I was wondering if I looked as if I couldn't afford the $20 or what. We ordered the Salmon Tartar for appetizer but it never came. The waitress had forgot it. She offered to take it off the bill and we had it after our main course, which was just as well because it was fresh and delicious and made up for a lackluster entree. (I had the gnocchi)\r
All in all a disappointing experience. The restaurant trys so hard to be swank and thee place see and be seen. That might be o.k. if you're into that. But it's too bad the service and the food can't live up to the reputation as being one of Portland's best places to dine.
