Ooh, baby. We're pretty new to Portland and always on the prowl for good eateries. Judy is an old restauranteur from San Francisco so together we're a tough audience. But Blue Hour ""Blue us away!""\r Sharing a caesar salad ($16 for two) of romaine lettuce leaves that crackled delightfully when we bit in, we were doubly impressed with the perfect caesar dressing--very judiciously sprinkled and tossed with just a hint of authentic Anchovie.\r We let our waiter recommend a wine after becoming a bit overwhelmed by the choices. Our entrees were delivered shortly after the Syrah was poured--mine a perfectly grilled swordfish fillet with lightly toasted bread crumbs on a bed of tender risotto hiding capers beneath, she a deliciously grilled pork tenderloin on sweet corn. We were in love.\r While normally we would eat desert elsewhere, just for variety, we couldn't pass up the Creme Brulee to see if it was up to snuff. The custard itself was divine, but the crust wasn't torched to my liking--it should crackle inot shards of sugar when tapped with a spoon, but this only suffered a dent of sorts.\r From the moment we entered the restaurant to our departure the service was just stunning. The decor is minimal and serene--blacks and whites with ceiling to floor cascades of delicate, earthly green fabric dividing the huge dining hall into intimate areas.\r \r A near perfect experience. Incredibly expensive and worth every penny. We will be back! Pros: Attention to every detail. Defines fine dining.
