Took a brand new car in to have stripes applied and windows tinted. Expressed my concerns about being able to remove tape later if I decided I didn't like it or selling the car and was told it could be taken off with a heat gun and you would never would know it had been there.\r
Tint scratched within a few months and was told it was a defect in the car so not going to cover it under warranty. Tape stripes discolored after a few months and was told it was environmental damage from pollutants or tree drippings. Shop claimed old tape would not come off - see above about removal - so put another layer over the top of old tape for free. New tape discolored as well and peeled up along the edges after a few months so I asked the shop to remove it since they said it was my fault it had discolored. Once removed I discovered they had outlined the stripes with a knife and had cut through the clearcoat and into the paint all the way from front to back on my car; they then told me they always trim the tape on the car and a buffer would fix it but it was not their problem that they damaged my paint. Also burnt the paint and plastic bumper cover removing the stripes and laid heat gun in trunk damaging trunk carpet.\r
Both bumper covers had to be replaced due to cuts so I upgraded them ( all at my cost, shop would not repair any damage they did to my car ) since buying new ones anyway. Some scratches on sheet metal were so deep they went clear to the primer but most were fixed when I had the stripes painted on. Paint was unavoidable as the tape stripes were cut all the way over the car and paint job was ruined.
