I was visiting from out of town, and dining solo. I went to Matchbox after googling ""happy hour Palm Springs"" because I was looking for a real restaurant with good food but not so upscale that it would be uncomfortable dining alone (you know what I mean, where they stick you in the worst spot and then rush you through...). The service was outstanding, and the food excellent. Happy hour menu was reasonable. I really enjoyed the more mellow atmosphere of the earlier dining also. I plan to return. You should try it too.

Cons: Regular menu is a bit pricey ($14 for a small pizza...)
