I went to payless optical what would have to be two and a half months ago, minimum. I ordered my glasses, and picked them up 2 weeks later when they came in, happy as can be. When I put them on, my vision wasn't right at all, but, since I haven't had glasses in some time, I figured I had to adjust and tried them several days in a row. There was something wrong with them. Windsor Heights is a far drive from where I live, and will school and work both full time, I didn't have time to stop out there that week, so my mother, who happened to be going out that way, took them back with an explanation as to what was wrong so they could be fixed. They said I personally had to take them back. The next week I finally had an opportunity to make it in, but the manager wasn't there so I'd have to come back. So I did the following week, and he told me that the lenses were fine and wasn't willing to help me at all. He told me to go to my eye care professional and have them tested there, so I did. And guess what! The right lense WAS off. When I returned he was once again rude and snooty, telling me that my eye care provider (Eye Care of Iowa!) had an outdate machine and HIS was better, but that he'd ""fix"" them anyways. He said it would be a week, and that he'd call me. Two weeks later, I called to get a snotty reply that they were NOT done. This is over a week later after that, and I'm going to call when they open to see if my glasses are ready. Any guesses as to what they'll say? Oh, and I asked a month ago if I could just get my money back and they basically told me no b/c they believed there was nothing wrong with the glasses. So, yes, they may be cheap, but in more than one way! And the money you ""save"" is spent in time, and gas money for frequent trips there, and the lack of basic customer service skills. Wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.
Pros: Cheap
Cons: No customer service skills at ALL! Horrible service!!!
