Review content:
We made our first trip to Four Winds with another couple who had been there few times. Since we usually dine in Dallas at small, non chain restaurants, we were really looking forward to this new spot.\r \r What a great location! Right in the middle of a ranch with a view of the lake out one window and roaming cattle out the other. We were greeted by an all too friendly hostess that obviously had a few drinks prior to our 7:30 reservation. Although she was nice, it was very unprofessional for a restaurant that is trying to set a high end image for itself. She ushered us to their cozy bar with their friendly bar staff. The wine list was adequate and had the usual markup. Ordering some red wine our first problem was two-fold. The wine was served in something resembling a goblet and it was very warm. Hot actually. I'm sure that a place of this stature can afford a wine chiller and a few dozen decent wine glasses. They don't need to be Riedel's, just a properly shaped, leaded wine glass with a nice stem. The ones we were offered were heavy, thick , and resembled something from Garden Ridge.\r \r After being seated at our table we were greeted by a friendly waitress and shown the menu. Appetizers and salads were all excellent. The group ordered different cuts of steak and all were prepared perfectly, although heavily seasoned. I would like to see some sort of side items offered with the entress instead of a la carte and charged seperately. \r \r Prices were moderate and we plan to go again. This place is great! However, if we are served warm wine in a cheap glasses we'll send it back and order something else. I understand we're in east Texas and the available talent pool may be a bit different than Dallas. But I hope to be received by someone friendly and not under the influence and have my wine at the proper temperature in a proper glass. Pros: Ambience, price, service Cons: Missing the small details. Wine temp and proper glasses
