Had to shorten it up a TON, could go on & on about complaints...:/...but this is the gist...
I only had 2 months left of my pregnancy with my daughter when we moved here. We were told it would only cost $1,410 & sometimes can cost UP TO $200 more AFTER the birth (figured that would be if I got medication or something) & that most insurances do NOT cover their costs. We figured it would still be cheaper than the hospital. Had a good all-natural back labor & delivery there, but was told I had sticky placenta & some hanging membranes (a.k.a. some placenta) left but I would be fine. 4 days later, I had to go back in b/c I had a huge chunk hanging out of me. Barb got it out (not Carla my midwife)...felt her hand all the way up to my chest inside of me. Never felt so fragile in my life. I bled VERY heavily for 8 weeks straight & was in MAJOR pain...to the point of crying EVERY time I peed & it taking me an hour JUST to pee b/c my muscles tightened so much in fear of pain. A year later, got a bill saying we owe them ANOTHER $2,800 (including $180 for the placenta they had left inside of me that they got out). It sucked badly, but my husband said we couldn't prove they only said $1,410 because all they had done was write out in pen $1,410 paid in pen on a paper & copy it...so it would be our word against theirs. We ended up paying it & kept getting them harassing us...& now 2 years later, just this last month got a letter from a collector's agency saying we still owe them $2,800 more which puts it on our record!!! We're not people to sue, but both agreed if this happens again, we're taking them to court. The people are friendly in person, & maybe they're just not good at keeping records, but they shouldn't have a business if they can't get people to keep accurate files & don't charge fairly...I am SOOO disappointed!!! Please, just consider what I've said...I don't want anyone to have to go through what we've gone through! :/ If you do go with them, make sure you get EVERYthing typed out & signed, even if you're the one who has to do it!!!
