Review content:
Where to begin... My initial phone call and subsequent email to them were never returned. A week later I called back and got ahold of someone. She said she was ""going to call me"". The office staff don't know much about insurance and I had to call them for their service codes that comprise their ""global fees"" so I could ask my insurance what the UCR was for each code. One of them didn't seem right - had a UCR of ~$90 where they were charging ~$500. (I never looked into it further.) At my intial visit they referred me for an emergency ultrasound (based on my described symptoms) and then didn't call with results! I called their answering service TWICE that evening to have them paged before they called me back, and then I asked them to call the ultrasound place so they could tell them the results by phone (ultrasound place wouldn't release info by phone to me) and then tell ME. I also paid for the initial visit with them out of pocket as they requested, and a month later they submitted it to my insurance and got double paid! A month after THAT (2 months after my visit) they billed me for the balance of $5! (Even after they were double paid!) I had to call my insurance to let them know they paid them and shouldn't have. I called three times to get a copy of the bill for the initial visit - first I left a message which wasn't returned, second I called again in a week and they said they'd tell their billing office to send one in the next week, and after 3 weeks I called again and she sent a hand-written one to me instead. They seem extremely disorganized. We had only one visit, with the midwife Barbara, who I will say was very kind and comforting and seemed very knowledgeable. But I'm afraid I'd never used them out of fear of being over-billed or having to wrestle with them on all kinds of administrative errors and things. They are very kind people, but do not seem very competent. They also won't do homebirths which is what I really wanted.
