First off, I go out to dinner A LOT. I have only been to this restaurant twice. It is expensive, not that that is a bad thing. It is a nice restaurant with a little different menu, which is good. First visit, was pretty much a good experience, except for the horrible waiter. He really seemed like he did not want to be there. When we asked him about their “Sunset Specials” which is a prix-fix meal which runs from 5-6:30, he acted like he did not know what we were talking about. From that moment on, it was all down hill. Every time he came over to our table whether to bring us our drink, our meal, our dessert, the bill, I cringed. He did not talk and if we asked him a question, it seemed like it was drawing all his energy to answer, even if the answer was one or two words. \r \r The second visit – my friend and I sat at the bar for at least 20 minutes before we got our two glasses of wine. Oh and by the way it was 5:00 and there was only a few people at the bar, so they were not busy. So there was no reason we were not tended to. The bartender and barmaid did not seem very happy either. At one point, we asked the barmaid if she was off-duty and she said no. But she still did not ask us what we wanted. When the bartender got around to taking our order it was about 20 minutes after we arrived. And when we paid – they charged us tax on our wines. I have never received coins as change while ordering a drink at the bar -- so I know this is not normal protcol at other restaurants/bars. While walking to our table for a moment I thought we were being seated in the section with the waiter we had the first time and I told the hostess that I am not sitting in this area and explained why. She told me it was not his area - which it wasn't. Luckily, we ended up with a good waitress. \r \r So I guess my only complaints are that the wait staff is unpredictable and the drink and the tax thing is ridiculous. When I am out to dinner and spending $100.00 for a meal and drinks for two, I don't want attitudes!!!! I can stay at home and eat for a heck of alot less money and get attitudes from my teenaged children. Thank you very much! \r \r Pros: Atmospher, food, wine Cons: Service
