Review content:
Brentwood is filled with pretentious expensive Italian restaurants- most with predictable and average menus. Pecorino stands out from the pack with an interesting menu, and warm friendly service that is a welcome change in this upscale locale. The dining room is simple, and makes a pleasant place to spend several hours. You can actually hear the other diners at your table. Salads were more than just mixed greens with balsamico... try the bean salad with bottarga. Pasta's were exquisite, the pasta with pecorino cheese and black pepper sounded as if it could be boring but turned out to be one of the most delicious pasta dishes I've ever tasted. Main courses were somewhat more simple and predictable. Everything was well prepared though I was not as wowed as at many other restaurants in this price range. Still, Pecorino is a great addition to the neighborhood and I look forward to going back.
Pros: friendly service, great pastas, pleasant atmosphere
Cons: a lot of other choices in this price range
