Businiess name:  Carolyn M Young Fiduciary Services

Review content:
It’s a new year, but the same unhappy, disgruntled, “anonymous” postings appear, launched by a very few angry relatives who did not receive the inheritance or trust money they felt they so rightly deserved. Almost all of the (approximately) 1,000 cases for which Carolyn Young has been responsible have resulted in the satisfaction of all parties; in fact, she has never been disciplined, reprimanded by the Professional Fiduciary Bureau, cited by any court for any reason, or had her reputation diminished in over 25 years in the profession. Judges know her by name and routinely appoint her when an elder abuse case arises. Probate attorneys, social workers, and care home operators with whom she has worked will all speak highly of her professionalism.\r \r Why, then, these vitriolic attacks by several people who must labor in anonymity to avoid slander suits? In many cases, Carolyn Young is appointed by the court because one relative is taking advantage of an elder parent, or two siblings who cannot stand to be in the same room disagree over the care of an aging parent. Carolyn will then make a recommendation in the best interest of the elderly person, based on her over 30 years as a social worker, Guardianship Officer for the county, and as a private fiduciary. The relative who disagrees with the outcome may then come “unglued,” particularly if they were not mentally stable prior to the decision. They have no recourse other than to “shoot the messenger.”\r \r I believe I know the persons behind two negative reviews. In one instance, the complaining reviewers had improperly spent the elderly person’s money, staying at the Sheraton Hotel and purchasing their own groceries from the estate. When the last of the estate was spent, the person responsible for draining the estate had no one to scapegoat but Carolyn Young. The other case involved a stepdaughter who took her stepfather (suffering from mild dementia) to an attorney and rewrote the trust, putting herself in charge and eliminating the man’s daughter from the estate. Much of Carolyn Young’s efforts involved correcting the improprieties, which only further enraged the offended party.\r \r As a simple example of the falsity of these outrageous posts, reference is made to all Carolyn’s “fancy cars.” Drive by her parking lot and view these “fancy” cars! Then note how easily, in this day of anonymous internet blogs and posts, it is to lash out at any person or business.
