It is very scary and sad that a company this shady is allowed to stay in business! Do not give them the time of day, your money, or any respect. They claim that they started as painters 25 years ago. They also claim that they painted the Hotel Del & remodeled the Padre Hotel. Which is a complete exaggeration of the truth! You can see first hand what a scam Gold Coast is when you visit the company at Vickers St. The showroom is the door on the right. But what they don’t want you to know and will deny, is that the door on the left is the entrance to their “marketing room” which is full of telemarketers! When they call you, they are pushing for your address to have one of their sales people come to your home for a free estimate. They have a list of phone numbers that they call repeatedly & read a script to, “Hello Sir, I am doing some painting in your neighborhood. Since I am already in your area, I can give you a great deal…” These telemarketers are paid commission if they get the person on the phone to agree to a free home estimate & another commission if you agree to go to their showroom to go over the estimate. There are 2 telemarketing coaches in the room listening over their shoulders & prompting them what to say. \r \r If you agree to go to their showroom to go over your estimate, you will meet with Scott Gash. He is the younger brother who just started the kitchen and bath remodel dept. Gold Coast will tell you that they have been doing kitchen & bath remodeling for decades when the truth is they just started in January 2010. Their remodeling photos are fake as well. They are photos of model homes that they claim as their projects. Scott has been coached and trained for years to be a salesman. He has no clue about cabinets, countertops or anything else pertaining to kitchens or baths. When you ask him an educated question about products, he just shakes his head yes or changes the subject. He will tell you all about his failed past as a model/actor, baseball player & pro golfer and then talk about his 2 children to get you to warm up to him. He will feed you a bunch of sales lines & techniques while the sales manager Rick listens & takes notes from the other room. They don’t care about you, your family or your home. They are only concerned with closing a sale. They are trained sales people NOT remodelers. They are just telling you what you want to hear by their calculated sales tactics. They have sales down to a science. Also, if you do decide to meet with them at their showroom to “go over your estimate” make sure to brush up on the Excel computer program. They have your estimate already calculated in Excel on a projector screen. Scott acts like he hasn’t seen the estimate price yet & pretends to be shocked at how expensive the total price is. Then he’ll go over it line for line & bring down the price making you think you are “getting a deal.” He is an actor with sales techniques and will try to keep you there until you agree to do the project with them. He is pushy, sneaky and will go to any extreme to close a sale. I wouldn’t be surprised if they had a used car lot in the back! Gold Coast is a FRAUD & not worth your time!!!\r
