Review content:
My BMW is no longer under warranty. I had an estimate done at the dealer for a problem with a window. They told me it was the window regulator and quoted me for that work. I went to an independent mechanic who services BMW and got pretty much the same diagnostic and same price (about $12 cheaper). Then I went to Trackstar Racing (@2139 Old Middlefield Way, Mountain View) and the owner (it is a small place) told me that it could be the window regulator but he would know for sure when he removes the door panel and sees what the actual problem is. The estimate he gave me was less than the other two places. But then he called me to tell me that it was a plastic part that was broken, less than half the price of the regulator, and less labor as well. He could have charged me for the regulator and I probably would have never known. But he was honest and did not. When I picked up my vehicle, he showed me the plastic part that he had removed from my car, showed me exactly where it was broken. I saved a few 100s of dollars and got excellent service. It is a small ""pop shop"" with excellent service. \r
I highly recommend.
Pros: Great service, lower price than dealer and competitors
Cons: None, unless you want a place opened before 7:45.
