Review content:
I've had the pleasure of being a pampered guest at the newly-opened Arroyo Vista Inn three times in the past few months and want to recommend it to anyone visiting the Pasadena / Los Angeles area. The innkeeper is extremely accommodating, cheerful, and best of all -- a fantastic cook! Breakfasts are made-to-order at the Arroyo Vista Inn. I've sampled the frittata, the oatmeal cookie flapjacks (amazing) and the baked French toast; all were served with fresh fruit and other breakfast staples, like sausage, bacon, etc. Delicious! I've slept very well in the comfortable beds in three different guest rooms, each with a unique view and special amenities (one had a spa tub that can only be described as luscious). The sheets seem to be very high-thread count and super soft. The Inn itself is located just a few minutes off the 110 (Pasadena) freeway, about 20 minutes from downtown Los Angeles. I found it easy to use it as my base during the Rose Parade festivities. The 100-year-old house (lovingly restored with modern conveniences) sits atop a winding drive and overlooks -- appropriately enough -- the Arroyo and the surrounding hills. It's all good at this charming inn. Looking forward to my next stay! Pros: delicious made-to-order breakfast; home-made candy; very comfortable beds Cons: after three visits, I've yet to find a flaw
