Review content:
First came the appetizer, Calamari. I have to tell you I'm accustomed to the lightly breaded fried Calamari served with a dipping sauce on the side. However, at this restaurant they served the fried squid in a plate of tomatoes, capers, lemon juice and herbs. This was an okay appetizer at best. Too much lemon, under-fried squid, and soggy from having been served in-sauce.
I order the fried catfish with a side of redskin potatoes. The fish was way over-breaded and also overcooked. It had absolutely zero flavor and was inedible unless dipped in the tartar sauce. The redskin potatoes were seasoned (very lightly) with chopped parsley, and nothing else. Probably just microwaved the potatoes and served them.
My wife ordered the vegetarian pasta and ate only a few bites. It was too salty and the noodles were overcooked.
For dessert we had the ""Chocolate Nemesis"". A cake made with three layers of chocolate. This was somehow bland and lacked the rich chocolate flavor you would expect . On a positive note this was the only dished served with any sense of presentation. All the other dishes were very thrown together.
Add a coffee and diet coke and the bill came to $52.
The only thing worth paying for was the wait staff. She was very courteous and had a positive demeanor. She made great suggestions and was genuinely working to make us happy.
Unfortunately this is not enough for a restaurant to survive. We will not be returning.
