Review content:
This is the only place I have come to take my shoes in the past 4 years... Until yesterday. I would trek here form the city a few times a year. Last weekend I brought in 6 pairs of shoes to get re-soled... He used to charge me $25 per shoe (which I thought were manhattan prices, but I didn't mind b/c he did such a great job). Now he charged me $35 per shoe, and $40 for boots, which I don't understand since it was the same re-soling... I was annoyed because now I'm paying a premium to Manhattan prices - and adding the commute. I almost feel that price descrimination was applied to me b/c all of my shoes were high-end designer (manolo, louboutin,etc.)...and he kept on say these are expensive shoes - so he uses ""really good material"" \r
Anyways, prices could have been forgiven, but what I won't forgive is the fact that they gave me my manolo boots back with both heels broken and mended. The guy tried to tell me it came in that way - which I will definitely say NO. I had only worn them a handful of times, granted they have a delicate 2 inch heel, but ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE to break both heels, then do a horrible job of repairing the heel (there was a bump on both heels where you could tell from a distance that they were broken and were horribly glued back together). I wanted to cry!.\r
\r
After fightiong with the owner, he kept on telling me that it was a manufacturer error, and that there was no reason for him to lie, and that he fixes very expensive shoes all the time (if so, wouldn't he have known to be more careful with the heel?)... I told him it was his error and horrible repair job. I'm so angry now - if I hadn't been price gauged in the first place, I may have had more sympathy - but paying 40%more than in the city started me in a foul place... I will never return.
Pros: Used to do good work.
Cons: mean and condescending
