Review content:
This is not a review of the supposed food that is served by this establishment. This is a review of the way I was treated last Saturday night.
I had a legitimate gift certificate, bought with airline miles, and decided to trek to the burbs with three of my friends to dine at I Love Sushi. Called on the way there, they said they had no wait. Asked if we could use our gift certificate, they said yes.
When we showed up, the place was about half full. I have worked at enough restaurants at that price point to know that four adults should equal about a $100 check with a $20 tip.
We were seated promptly, and immediately on the front page of the menu was a cheaply made paper insert that said ""sorry no coupons on Friday and Saturday nights"". Before we ordered, I asked again if our gift certificate would be valid. The server said ""no, sorry, no coupons"". So I clarified, it was not a coupon, we were not getting a discount, the establishment was not losing any money. They were still even guaranteed a full tip on top of the total price of the bill. I may have even been able to understand if there was a wait, but there was not. We ended up leaving, not because of the service, but because of the absence of it. To an establishment not willing to accommodate four adult patrons, shame on you, and shame on your business practices. It's too bad I will never go there again, and recommend that my friends do not go there, I heard your food was actually pretty good.
Pros: Can buy gift certificates with airplane miles
Cons: Not allowed to use them to dine
