Businiess name:  I Love Sushi Restaurant

Review content:
This place used to be the one place I would go for sushi in Beaverton; back when it had bare bulbs for lighting and neo-junkical decor. Hakatamon came along, and I was happy to bounce between the two places (especially for Hakatamon's soba noodle soup). Back then, at I.L.S., the twin brothers/owners held down the fort and the food was good. They have recently undergone a re-vamping that includes fresh paint, cohesive decor, new lighting, increased prices, and new cooks. Visually, the place looks much better, but the food has declined and the prices have increased. I ate there last night with my family, and unfortunately it will be our last time there :-''( . The nigiri fish portions are much smaller. The tako was sliced about 1mm thin, this is laughable given the price increase. The maguro and sake are also much smaller than before. The uni was fresh, so that was a plus. A large Sapporo is now $7.50 if I recall, which is ridiculous. The spicy seafood udon soup was not good. The soup base was very bland. It lacked any kimchi heat or flavor, and had no bonito/kombu flavor. The seafood consisted of poor quality, frozen baby octopi and scallop pieces, 3 small clams, and one piece of oyster meat. But the coup de grace of our final supper at I.L.S. were their new ""special rolls"". Here is an example of caveat emptor: The new ""Mr. Obama"" (which should actually be named the ""President Obama"" now) and the lobster (claw) roll, are priced at $15 & $18 apiece! (yes, I should have asked the price first). Not only are they WAY overpriced, but the quality of the lobster was hypo-sub-par. It was watery, tasteless, and mushy. We did not finish either of the not-so-special rolls. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend I.L.S., which is a shame because they used to be good. Sadly, Hakatamon is now the only sushi restaurant I have to recommend in Beaverton. Pros: Updated decor. Cons: Overpriced, meager portions, poor quality.
