We are currently driving our son from University Park to Legacy for their Transitional Kindergarten program (because we plan to move to that area in the next few months). A friend of mine urged us to go ahead and get our son in the TK program before enrolling him in Kinder there. We are SO thankful we did! He is currently playing ""catch-up"" and his teacher has been so great in assuring us he will be ready for Kindergarten. My husband and I are grateful everyday that we are not doing all this driving back and forth for nothing. We are convinced that if he were not doing the TK program at LCA, he would be repeating Kindergarten. Our son is journaling at home, writing in complete sentences, using appropriate punctuation and capitalization and describing words. We have found he is even writing a lot more at home just for fun. He is also reading beginning reader books. I myself cannot believe the strides he has made just this Fall semester. If this continues, we are at Legacy for the long haul for sure!
