Review content:
I have had the good fortune to play many great golf courses, from Muirfield to Oakmont to Torrey Pines. Victoria National Golf Club in Newburgh, IN is one of the best kept secrets of the midwest/midsouth golf world. Tom Fazio has created a masterpeice that requires a thoughtful, measured approach to each and every shot. The design will grow to be recognized as a classic, add to this a natural beauty that is so rich you have to constanly remind yourself that you are in Southwest Indiana. Everything about the club is first rate, the proshop staff, the grill attendants, even the clubhouse man treated me as though I'd been a member for years. \r

The club is easily accessible from the local regional airport or the local county strip, we landed a King Air easily at the county airport, which was a 10 minute drive away. The club has two four bedroom ""cabins"" for out-of-town guests, these were high-end condo's rich in creature comforts and a 3 minute walk to the clubhouse. Sitting on the back porch watching the sun rise over the 18th green with a large lake behind is now one of my favorite visuals!\r
\r
I would put this golf course and the total golf expereince one recieves here, on my top five list of personal favorites with Pine Valley, Muirfield, The Homestead and Winged Foot - pretty heady company, but ""the vic"" - as the locals call it -deserves to be considered in this class, in every way. Congratualtions to the Freidman family on this jewell.
