I ordered carpet in Aug. '09. Salesman Frank said carpet was nearly track free/berber/plush combo.Got carpet in Jan .'10...long wait...was not even close to nearly track free. I was told Stainmaster would replace as policy and to tell them I hated the carpet,( not that the salesman misrepresented it.). Replaced Feb.'10 carpet was defective. Replaced Mar '10 carpet okay. First installers chipped my new tile entry/I asked Jack's to fix/they did not offer/they did fix. We bubble wrapped pole at top of stairs/ still chipped it and broke moulding at bottom,chipped walls and staiway wood trim on my new stairway in at least three places. I found an error in
price of first carpet to second, which I upgraded. They owed me over $500.00. Spoke to Rodney and the third time I explained he said he understood and said corporate would issue me a check. I was questioned on what I paid for carpet padding because salesman did not put details on receipt . They tried to rework the figures to their advantage so as not to have to pay me.
I finally received the money 2 months later, but I had to give them a certified check previous to that for the upgrade on the carpet ""to expedite the order"" which did not get "":expedited"". First installers did not glue down the padding and shorted padding in areas. They called to my attention they give nothing in the contract for ""inconvenience"". To me, this was way beyond inconvenience. My house was literally packed in boxes and stacked for months. They were not compassionate, just business for them. Norman even commented to my husband that our house was a mess. It was a NIGHTMARE! Buy it today, install it tomorrow is a myth. It is only for in stock carpet which you probably won't order. I wouldn't give any stars except I must rate. More like Ug!
