Peter Lugar's is not the best steak house in New York despite all the people who say ""it's the best there is"". \r
The prices are really out of line and (I've dined there at least 6 times) the food can be inconsistant. I have noticed they tend to over-butter thier steaks on occasion. It's not uncommon to get a grumpy, old waiter who will have you questioning yourself as to why you are spending all this money for such a less-than-great experience. \r

Peter Lugar's is a skippable New York dining institution.
Pros: Can be very good
Cons: Price, waitstaff and frankly the customers detract from one's enjoyment
