Review content:
This is the response I FINALLY recieved from KFE microsystems regarding a faulty VGA/HDMI converter that they refused to take back without a 20% restocking fee. In this rant, they would have you believe that I am computer illiterate and know nothing about installing and uninstalling hardware, trouble shooting or basic computer maintenance. Keep in mind that I am a very well educated web designer. It is my job to ensure my machine is operating smoothly. They also would have you believe that my techs (both of them) are idiots without Bachelor's degrees in IT related fields. This is not the case. They will also tell you that they told me upfront that I was looking for ""a cheap solution"" that would not work. If they HAD told me this, I wouldn't have bought the unit. I would have waited, saved my money and just bought a new computer, but these guys were telling me everything they needed to to get me to buy a unit that I have never been able to use that sits on my shelf collecting dust. I can't sell it, I can't take it back, I can't hook it up because the damn thing doesn't work. I called the company that makes the tv and they said it absolutely WAS compatible, that all I had to do was hook it up and it takes care of everything else. I had my technicians look at it (that wasn't cheap) and was advised to get my money back. I called back and told them what (exactly, word for word) my techs both told me. i received a message to call KFE back and when i did, I was verbally attacked, told that I was an idiot who didn't know how to operate his equipment and that I wasn't going to get my money back. After about two minutes of irrational, ranting insults, I hung up. THEY TRIED TO CALL BACK. Presumably to finish the rant. If you want to do business with KFE, make sure they don't think you're an idiot because they will take advantage of you. They made no offer to remedy the situation, no offer to test the equipment, no advice was given to me before OR after the purchase other than ""sure, it's going to work. you need to buy these connections because they don't come with the unit.""
The unit now sits on a shelf, collecting dust because it doesn't work.
You wanted a cheap solution and right now. As we told you the cheap way might not work like you want. You had no technical knowledge or how to install or calibrate this device for use with your TV. We told you before you purchased it, if it did not work due to compatibility there was a restocking fee. If it was defective we would replace it. You left a nasty message on our phone that night. You would not take any of our advice before or after the sale. We offered to hook it up with your laptop to an external monitor and test it. There was no charge for that. As we said on the phone, if the issue was the output on your laptop then there would be a charge to fix it. The bottom line is you left obscenities on our phone and you got an appropriate response or rant as you called it about that. You refused to listen to
