Don't let their seamstress touch your dress!!! I was very happy to get a dress for such a great price, and I would recommend the shop as a good place to get an inexpensive dress, but I do not recommend getting alterations done there. I accept some responsibility for my poor experience. I had called to see when my second fitting was. I was told that it was done and I could pick it up whenever. I was surprised that I didn't need to have a second fitting and expressed my surprise. I was told, no- it's ready and you can pick it up whenever we are open. I had a lot going on at the time, and wasn't able to pick it up until a week and a half before the wedding. I was in a hurry when I tried it on before leaving the store. My fault. I did not realize the shop considered this my ""second fitting."" The next day I tried the dress on with my jewelry and noticed some things I can't believe I missed before. There was a 3 inch difference between the right and left side of the dress. The zipper was bubbled in the back so it looked like I had 4 golf-ball sized bumps on my butt, and one strap was longer than the other, so it kept falling off. I couldn't believe it. I could have had my fiance do a better job and we don't even have a sewing machine. With not much time, I couldn't risk letting her fix it. It was a Sunday, so I started calling around frantically. Even though they were closed, Magic Cleaners in Bowleys Quarters opened up so she could start fixing the dress. Unfortunately Poor Little Rich Girl's seamstress cut the inside layer of the dress too much which is why it bubbled. My new seamstress is still working on it and isn't sure if she can completely fix the bubbles in the back. I will have to live with the inside layer being 3 inches shorter than the outside sheer layer, but as long as it is straight I think it will look fine. I called the shop to let them know how dissatisfied I was with the alterations. I readily admitted that I hold some of the responsibility, but I wanted them to be aware of the quality of work from their seamstress. The response I got was VERY defensive. Linda told me that she has been working with this seamstress for over 20 years and was almost yelling at me for calling. I am no bride-zilla, but these alterations were so bad that there is no excuse. I did not give their seamstress an opportunity to fix the dress, but with how bad it was, would you?
