Review content:
The East Side Art Center offers afterschool art classes for children, and evening art classes for adults. During the summer, week-long courses are offered for children. Don Simon teaches the children's classes as well as some of the adult classes. The children's classes as often 'project' classes, in which children work on a project (a book, a clock, or a puppet, for example) over the course of the term. The classes are small, so that Don gives everyone personal attention and guidance. Don encourages the children to focus and master the art techniques that he is teaching them. The classes are truly engrossing and rewarding for the children, and the projects or other artworks produced can be amazing.
