Review content:
I moved to Raleigh from New York City and have also lived in London---both places have excellent Indian restaurants. Neither of them, however, has Kadhai!! This is one of the finest Indian restaurants I have EVER eaten at. The sauces are simply heavenly and DELICIOUS. While I like my food a little spicy, Eugene (the head chef and owner, with his wonderful wife,) prepares your dish to please you, the customer, and can make it mild, slightly spicey, or hot. The specialties are out of this world and I just love their lamb and chicken--whether it is the Lamb Curry, Lamb Punjabi, or any of their chicken dishes. I'm sure the seafood is excellent, as well, but I haven't ordered it because I keep reordering the chicken and lamb! The naan, raised wheat Poori hot bread, Samosas and other appetizers are scrumptious. We are now frequent customers of Kadhai---Eugene won the WORLD's TOP CHEF award out of over 1,500 Indian Chef's, while he lived in the United Kingdom, and has worked as a chef in over 27 countries for such prestigious restaurants and hotels as Le Meridien (Niece, France), Pinehurst (head chef, North Carolina) as well as in Edinborough, Scotland. Raleigh is fortunate to have a chef and supporting family with such talent, high quality and stature. The restaurant is hard to find and is located behind the Starbuck's off of Glenwood Avenue, but is it ever worth the hunt! Robert K Raleigh, NC
