DR. Frederick W. William.... Tiley, helped to save my life on 3/12/00 at Salem hospital. I had been ivolved in a fairly extensive crash involving a downhill mountain-bike, 8 beers, bad judgement, and all of that coupled with the age of only 21 years, was a recipe for disaster. Im quite sure that if he reads this post, he would agree. This involves a finer point, however. I want all who read this to recognize the ability of a fine surgeon such as DR. Tiley. \r
\r
On March 4, 2001 at approximately 1 p.m. I was in involved quite extensively in a very serious accident just up the road from a place called blackrock in Dallas, Oregon...\r
\r
A trail I had been on many, many times... in the hopes, and pursuit of a future career in racing downhill bikes.\r
\r
I was 21 at the time, very self-confident, overly sure of my so-called abilities... And did I mention the eight beers?\r
\r
Here's the bottom line....\r
\r
After Dr. Wilson stabbed me with a giant needle, In part for helping to stabilize me before the first surgery, I was accosted by a one Dr. Johnson....pulmonary specialist. \r
\r
I harbor no ill-will towards the doctors and namely, the surgeons who performed my operations while i was in 3rd floor intensive care..room 314 3/4/00-3/12/00 and sixth floor for all my spine operations. Even with all the curse words I shared towards Dr. Johnson shortly after he had a pulmonary accident involving my left lung....Thank you doc..sorry for cursing at you.\r
\r
I know you are an excellent pulmonary specialist, otherwise you would'nt be there.\r
\r
And to Dr. Tiley... I remember you consoling me just before you turned me into a piece of titanium-caged machinery and I remember you.... with your wife, calming me down before surgery.\r
\r
I dont have a way to thank you enough... I just finally had a way to communicate with you and I thought I would pass along my thanks to you...You changed my life doc....And I love you for it.. Post my surgery comments PLEASE? LET OTHER YOUNG PEOPLE LEARN FROM MY CRASH. Show them my X-rays... Full permission on my end... Any legal documents thay would need to be signed, if need be. \r
\r
Sincerely, \r
\r
Adam Jonas Holbrook\r
\r
P.S.\r
\r
All the florida calls were from people trying to fraudulently use my account info. \r
\r
Share my story doc....
Pros: Helping me walk again...
Cons: Pain, and the media's perception of it.
