I've been to Vanek's three times in the past, each with a small, easy repair jobs for my shoes. I recently took a pair of boots and they completely botched the job. My $300 dollar boots are ruined. I will have to spend a lot more money going to another cobbler to fix their mistake and a complete makeover of the boots will be necessary-like chopping half the shaft off. They were suppose to fix a loose thread and all they did was cut it off. They also completely tore another seam open and made no effort to close it. I'm so disappointed.
They also have the worst customer service of any retail or service establishment I've ever frequented. They did an acceptable job on the three smaller repairs I've had them do so I tried to overlook this aspect in the past but poor service without being able to repair shoes means they have no redeeming qualities.
