Review content:
My family and I planned a very nice surprise party in St. Augustine for my Mother's 50th Birthday. We picked the perfect location and also the perfect cake. We printed a picture off the internet to give to Sheila's Cakes and explained the colors and flavors that we wanted. The cake cost $250.00 and when we received the cake it did not look like the picture nor were the colors correct. The blue on the cake was supposed to be a deep blue but instead it was more of a teal blue. The gold looked to be almost a burnt orange color. My brother arranged to pick up the cake at 1:45 on the day of the party but the cake was not complete until approximately 2:30 and it looked like it was a rush job. My brother witnessed Sheila painting the cake after he was waiting for at least 15 minutes. He took the cake from the shop because we only had a few hours until the party and there was nothing that could be done. When I contacted Sheila's Cakes about the problem I was told that I would not receive a refund on the cake and was offered a $50.00 store credit. When I said that this was unacceptable, Sheila informed me that she was not going to offer me anything else, no matter how much I argued with her. I am posting this in order to inform future customers of the possibility of having a cake not turn out correctly when there is no time to go elsewhere. Cons: Everything from service to actual presentability of cake
