Review content:
I first met Doc 10 years ago after another Canton vet peeled me for nearly 1k in vet bills. he came recommended from neighbors, but I was reluctant to change over. then a story about him made the TV. A customer brought in their dog and asked to have it destroyed as it needed surgery they could not afford. Doc ended up providing the surgery for free and saving the animal. Since then I have had 3 cats and four dogs administered to by Doc. As have many of my friends. He is concerned and caring and knows more about animals than most vets. He was a Major in the Army as a vet and also spent several years in Africa at the Kenyan National Park, tneding to elephants, lions, etc. . His office is a bit unorthordox but this also serves to keep his overhead low. He provides all meds at COST with no markup (check his costs against PetMeds). He provides the neuter and spay at a very low cost as well. the other vets in town are not particularly thrilled with him because he refuses to price-fix along with the rest of them. His business name change was a result of a competitor opening up to become first in the yellow pages. Since Doc operates on a very thin profit margin, advertising is not in the budget. So he changed from Animal Kingdom to Abundant Animal Care. While his dress may seem a bit unorthodox (yes a hawaiian shirt in summer), I find it refreshing. When I moved to Knoxville I would drive all the way back here to have him doctor my pets. He has been a guest in my home and i am proud to call him my friend. When we lost our dog of 17 years he met me in the parking lot and sedated him before putting him down. He then hugged me while I cried like a baby in front of God and everyone else. He often trades treatment for services (carpentry, etc) for those who cannot pay. He is not in this for the money but for his love of animals. And his hours are a bit strange as he has to moonlight with PetSmart to make ends meet. He takes in strays and keeps them until someone adopts. So until you know what you are talking about please refrain from putting him down because of his appearance or the building he works out of. His equipment is all state of the art. To those that state that Doc posts this himself. What a crock!!. Jim Windon Canton, GA Pros: Best vet ever
