I bought my first skateboard here when I was 14 (I am 34 now), so that lets you know two things - Stratosphere has basically kept skateboarding alive in the South throughout the lean years, and that owner Thomas Taylor has earned the loyal customers that he has gathered over the past 20 years. Other shops may have more stuff, cooler new brands, or more room in their immaculately clean shops, but Stratosphere has exactly what you need to get the job done & the knowledge to give you some of the best advice about what to buy and what not to buy.
Pros: A piece of skateboarding history, quality gear
Cons: No place to park without paying, limited hours
