Review content:
...the store's employees do not seem interested AT ALL in selling to customers who simply walk in the door. Did we just happen to get a bad one when walked in? I saw other customers being helped- some clearly with employees, many with designers in tow. When we visited yesterday there were at least 3 bored-looking employees lounging at the front table, talking loudly about their plans to go out. While friendly, our saleswoman displayed no interest in us or even making a sale at all. While we were happy to wander the sales floor alone looking at everything (and this is the store's greatest strength and why we left our home off of Glenwood Ave. in Raleigh to drive to Zebulon that day), once we were through we needed some help and information to narrow down our final choices. But after not getting any help, we ultimately the left without buying anything. \r \r Instead, we drove home to Raleigh, stopped at the Bassett store on Glenwood and dropped thousands on living room and bedroom furniture, then called it a day. (We are newlyweds furnishing our first home and are fortunate enough to have generous relatives who gifted us with a large sum which we are using to buy furniture- important facts which nobody at Whitley Galleries cared enough to find out)\r \r You truly can't beat the size, selection and quality of the furniture Whitley Galleries stocks. Based on our shopping experience, the prices are good, but not necessarily better than other places if you hit a sale. But the lackluster service is the real negative. It's especially astonishing because we're not the type to expect to be waited on hand and foot AND surely it's a commission-based pay environment and we went there cash-in-hand planning to walk out with a big purchase. We were easy money, but Whitley Galleries doesn't want it I guess!
