Review content:
I have had after-work drinks at the Cactus Club many times, the door and bar staff are always friendly. I normally just grab a beer or two and leave but I decided to take my out-of-town boyfriend for dinner one night. We were seated promptly outside on the patio. The complimentary chips and salsa are much better than what I have had anywhere else. I had a chicken wrap and he had fajitas... the food is good and more upscale than a normal Mexcian/Southwestern joint. Also our waiter was very nice and engaging, I was very impressed. \r \r I have to say though that I was VERY disappointed with the margarita. I am no 'rita expert, but it was bad. It actually tasted worse than what you would get if you dumped grocery store mix in with tequila. I did order the standard, but I could not taste any tequila, despite the $7 price tag. It tasted like 95% mix. I actually had trouble finishing it, and it just came in a standard glass which took away from the ambiance. Perhaps the more upscale 'ritas are better but there ""standard, very good"" marg should taste like something, esp. considering they keep getting ""Best Margartias in Town"" awards. Pros: Ambience, Chips & Salsa, Staff, Food Cons: Margarita, Huge line for the bathroom no matter day or time
