Review content:
By far the best restaurant of any kind on Staten Island...Tried it for the first time about a year ago, and have eaten there 20-30 times since. You will never get enough of their baked shrimp/calamari appetizer!. The fried calamari is undoubtedly the absolute best..very crispy, light coating and tender inside. Eggplant parm like you never tasted! The pasta variations are mouth-watering, and the daily specials will keep you coming back to try a different one. At the ""holiday"" time, they serve big portions of the most delicious baccala with pasta ever! And remember to try the gnocchi, very creamy and smooth. Did I mention the pizza? Nice, thin crispy crust, flavorful fresh sauce, plenty of mozz, and a teriffic assortment of tasty toppings. Available large size or as a ""personal"" size pie. Most dishes can be ordered ""family style"", a very large platter of whichever item which will then serve several diners at your table. Tempting dessert menu, and of course full bar, wine selections. I am getting hungered-up just writing about the place! Weekday lunch specials offer some regular menu items at considerable savings. Very attentive, efficient service, and the owner and head chef will come by and talk to you about your dining experience, a nice touch. Be aware that everything is fresh-cooked to order, and takes the proper time to prepare...so it may seem like you're waiting more than you might at some other places, but this sets a nice relaxing old-world pace. I suggest you determine what appetizer you'd like and order it before continuing to order your main course...finish up with some of their delicious Espresso or Capuccino, you're never rushed out. Enjoy!!!
