Review content:
I have a (mostly) restored 1971 Ford F100 I purchased about 3 months ago. I previously took it to Canyon for a subcontracted rebuild of the old instrument cluster and broken speedometer. It was a bit pricey - which is what you expect on a 40 year old car - but they fixed everything 100%.\r \r I was out driving the truck a week ago and it suddenly seemed the fuel pump was acting up (I just moved here and don't have my own garage yet so have only been able to do some basic work on it ...) I was able to limp it to the shop on Sunday and left the keys in the drop box and called them on Monday to describe the problem and have them take a look. The fuel pump/filter/etc seemed fine so we were both perplexed. The previous owner had told me he'd had issues with the coils burning out, they took a look and indeed it was the coil, but when they were replacing the coil they discovered that the existing coil had been internally wired incorrectly and wasn't getting the right voltage from the battery (5-6v instead of 8v). They re-wired the harness to the new coil and not only does the truck run the best it has since I got it, it also starts now without the choke (even after sitting for 5 days!) They only charged me an extra $100 labor for the hours it took them to get to the bottom of this esoteric wiring issue. Very happy with the service so far, though I hope to have a house in the next month or so, but if I get stuck I'll take it back to them
