My son, John is at an advanced level of alcoholism. He came into the North Bend Waterfall Clinic and explained that he was going into D.T's, dry heaves, sweats, shakes and severe alcohol withdrawls. John could, without immediate medical treatment, die from these symptoms; I was informed of this through my own private care Physician.\r
John was informed by Waterfall that they do not offer emergency care and he would have to make other medical contacts for help. John explained to Waterfall that he does not have the means of receiving emergency medical care from facilities such as Bay Area Hosp. \r
John was still refused immediate medical care for his withdrawls and was sent away with an appointment with Waterfall a month from that date. \r
Not all alcoholics have the means (finincail) to walk into an E.R. room and get emergency treatment. My doctor informed me that an alcoholic, in John's condition, could have died from the lacking and refusal of emergency medical care for his condition he shared with Waterfall Clinic.\r
I would think that Waterfall, since they treat people like John, would have had a full understanding of what he was experiencing and his immediate need for emergency medical care; this makes no sense to me nor my doctor. \r
My question is: why was my son turned away and sent back out on his own when he was in the midst of severe alcohol withdrawls? \r
